Hit points (HP)

Your hit points (HP) represent how much fight you've got left in you. Start play with your current HP equal to your max HP, as noted in your playbook.

You lose HP when you take damage—when you are injured, hurt, roughed up, knocked around, etc. If you run out of HP, you're out of the action and might be dying.

You regain HP via moves like Recover or Make Camp, but your current HP can never go higher than your max.

(No, you don't get more HP each level, nor do you add your CON to your HP.)

Your armor reduces the damage you take. For example, if you take 3 damage but have 1 armor, you only lose 2 HP.

Your armor is based on the gear you have equipped. Equipment that says "n armor" (like "1 armor" or "2 armor") doesn't stack; use the higher number. Equipment that says "+1 armor" does stack with other armor.

Armor is 0 by default. 0 or 1 armor is typical. 2 armor is tough. 3 armor is as good as you can get at the start of play.
