Prep
As the next session approaches, make time to sit down and prep. Think about where things left off last session. Where are the PCs and what are they up to? What do you expect to happen in the next session? Prep for that.
If the PCs are…
… embarking on a journey, then see the What to prep section of the Expeditions chapter What to prep.
… already on a journey, review your prep. Where are the PCs? What are the next legs of travel, points of interest, and challenges? Which encounters are most likely to come up in the next session? Flesh them out if you need to.
… about to explore a site, then prep it to whatever level of detail you find useful and have time for. See Creating sites on Creating sites.
… exploring a site already, what are they likely to encounter next? Flesh that out if you need to.
… likely to face any dangers or make any discoveries, then prep those if you have not already. Find stuff from Book II and review those entries, or make your own. For guidance, see:
… likely to interact with NPCs, review your notes on them. If you think you'll introduce new NPCs, see Creating NPCs for guidance.
… likely to gain a new follower, then find their stats in Book II or make them from scratch Creating followers.
… heading home or into a stretch of downtime, then prep for a homefront session. See "What to prep" on What to prep of the Homefront chapter.
