Intractable differences
Over time, disagreements can grow into ongoing conflicts. The Judge won't stand for the Fox's deceit. The Fox can't forgive the Heavy for his husband's death. The Lightbearer frets over the state of the Seeker's soul.
When you first sense such tensions, check in with the players. Make sure that the frustrations and emotions are felt by the characters and not the players. If the players are getting upset with each other, take a step back and look for a solution. Update
your content guidelines, fix the fiction if you need to, and commit to whatever changes you've all agreed upon.
If everyone is on board, though, then lean into the conflict. Ask folks what they're looking for. Escalation? Resolution? Heartbreak? Use their answers to guide what comes next.
